Multisensory Learning Strategies: The Basics
Using multisensory methods can optimise how you learn
Can be helpful for: individuals who are neurodiverse, those who struggle with retaining information or those who have processing difficulties.
How To Use Multisensory Methods
When you’re learning:
- Engage multiple senses. Use multisensory methods to encode information deeply in the brain by combining visual, auditory, tactile, or kinesthetic approaches.
- Little and often. Space learning across several days rather than trying to cram
- Regularly review. Take time to pause, reflect, and distil information to help the brain absorb and recall it more effectively.
The Science Behind Multisensory Methods
Multisensory learning is ideal for neurodiverse individuals and can be shaped to any individual’s learning style. By using these methods you can aid memory and recall while boosting your confidence, which is always important when learning.
